Different concrete sawing techniques

As a fundamental part of any construction process, the concrete sawing technique is used to make precise cuts and openings through any material. In this article, you will read about a few different concrete sawing techniques.

Any time in the construction process you may need to make openings for doors or windows, water pipes and electrical cables. In addition to concrete, this technique is also successful for cutting any material, such as brick or tile, masonry, and other hard surfaces. The demand for concrete sawing has increased in recent years, especially due to fast and efficient cuts through walls, floors and other surfaces.

First of all, the concrete sawing technique can be dry or wet. Dry sawing is used on massive outdoor projects due to the large amount of dust it generates. This technique uses a diamond blade that does not require water during operation and protects against overheating. Totally opposite operates the wet sawing technique. In this case, the blades work with water and therefore avoid the presence of dust. So we can say that this technique is environmentally friendly, compared to dry sawing.

As its name implies, the floor cutting technique is used to make any cuts on flat surfaces, such as concrete floors, paths, and slabs. There are special floor mowers, which are powered by diesel and electric supply. They can be used both indoors and outdoors, available to make a cut up to 500mm deep.

The wall sawing technique is used to make openings in vertical surfaces. It is the best technique to cut your wall for new doors and windows. The tools used for this type of cutting are wall saws.

Wire saws are used to create various types of shapes in different sizes in reinforced concrete. This technique uses wire rope embedded with diamond beads. Not producing cracks around the cut surface is perhaps the best benefit of this technique. It is generally used to make large openings in walls.

For small to medium concrete sawing projects, circular saws are perfect. Due to their small size, they are also known as hand tools. Workers use these tools if they are faced with limited interior space.

Wet or dry sawing, floor sawing, wall sawing, wire sawing and ring sawing: the choice is huge and it’s in your hands…

We love to say that when it comes to cutting concrete, there is no room for error. You do not think the same?! It’s your turn now.
