The BMW 6 Series first hit the market in 1976. The first 6 Series vehicle was built as a predecessor to the BMW E9 CS model. It belongs to the category of big tourists.

The BMW 6 Series refers to the two-generation BMW models, both based on the 5 Series sedans. The first E24 model was released in 1976, which was released as a replacement for the 3.0CSi and 3.0CS models. BMW Motor Corporation, in 2003, launched the E63 and E64 series, which are available in convertible and coupe designs.

The BMW M6 offers a higher level of performance compared to all other models launched by BMW. The vehicle’s competitors include Mercedes Benz SL, Cadillac XLR, Jaguar XK, and Lexus SC430. The 6 Series E24 was released in 1977 and BMW continued production until 1989, while the E63 and E64 released in 2003 are still in production to date.

The BMW E24 6 Series was launched as a successor to the BMW E9 model, namely the 2800 CS, 3.0CS and 3.0CSi, and was built on the basis of the BMW E24 platform. The vehicle provided the 4-speed automatic, 5-speed manual, and 4-speed manual transmission. The chassis used in the E24 was much safer than the one used in the E9 model. Later, in 1980, the 635CSi was launched which produces 160 kilowatts of power, allowing the vehicle to reach the maximum speed of 222 kilometers per hour.
